La Vie Est Belle (Life is Beautiful)

When you look back at the past 20-30 years of your life and pick up all the remnants of memories residing in you and find out that you did nothing, then you have begun to realize that you are here for a purpose. What may seem as accomplishments to others may be nothing to you. You were happy that you succeeded at that time, but in the long run, it did not give you shit. You begin to realize that all your life, you’ve been living for others to talk about you. The happiness you had at that time seemed to be everlasting but disappeared without notice. Or shall I say “vanished into thin air”. To those who feel this way, well, there is nothing you can do about it. You can sit and cry for wasting the precious past which can no longer be bought back (unless there was a time machine). But just remember, if you cry today for the past, all you can do is to cry tomorrow for today. The average life of a human is about ummmm, ok, assuming 70 years. You’ve still got 40-50 years. Believe me, if at all you were born in this earth (if you are reading this, then you definitely are born on earth, ok, jokes aside) , the force that created you (to some it is God, to others it is pure science, but I’ll call it the force) has something in store for you here. All you have to do is to find out what is it that makes you happy. If you think that you have no time, look at the mirror and slap yourself. The force has given you a lifetime. A life time of opportunities. This is a fast world. Opportunities don’t come knocking at your door. You got to chase them and when you find it , hug it hard and don’t let go. You will have something to remember that makes you feel happy years later. And that is truly happiness. If you listened to someone at some point and screwed your life, you can put the blame on him, but it’s your life that’s screwed. You could have lived for yourself at that moment asked and taken your own decision, in that way, if you still screwed up, you can put the blame on you.
Yes , it might be too late to realize that you wasted the past. At least you realized it. Right? But then it is painful. Trust me. It is really painful. After the realization has occurred, all you can see are the beautiful things in life which you have never experienced and you want it all at the same time but then you cannot reach out for any. As time crawls, you will get used to it and learn to experience everything one by one. Like I said, there is a whole lifetime of opportunities. This is your life. No one can spoon feed you forever. Even if they did, you will only learn the shape of the spoon. The road can only show the path, you have to walk through it, just look for the signs and you will reach your destination. If the road is crowded, create your own, life will be more fun. LIFE WILL BE MORE BEAUTIFUL.
The title means "Life is beautiful". Took it from a movie title. The picture too. A really good movie. Watch it if you get a chance.

Forever

Was written years back for a girl. Now it's just a bunch of words.

All I can see is vacuum when she looks me in the eye
It's Just like staring into empty space
All I can see is a curve on her lips when she smiles
I just cant get my mind of her face
All I can hear is a near melody when she talks
Cause sometimes words don't mean a thing
All I ever wanted to was to take her for a walk
Write a song for her and sing
All I can feel is the warm gentle breeze
when she whispers in my ear
And all I can do is to love her in my dreams
Not because I am mean
Not because I am numb
But because it's just me
And I'll be there for her forever.

What else do you need?

Pick out a lonely spot on the beach, far from the madding crowd. You, your harmonica and your cassette player. Watch the sun just as it is ready to wet itself. Light a fag and watch the smoke curve past the line on the horizon. Now you start to notice the slight curve and realize how big the world is, or how small we are. Watch the waves coming towards you to dry you of your sorrows. Blow your Harmonica to the singing of the waves and the cool breeze, you needn’t be an expert. Play your favorite song in the player and sing along. If only you had the girl you love beside you……. Well it can happen everyday and it is free. I mean, who is gonna charge for staring at the ocean. Nature can still give us what we need. It is up to us to search it and experience it. These are the times where loneliness can be your best friend. Dude, life is short and can end unexpectedly. So why should we save the good times for the future.

Reaching Divinity

“You have a problem? Talk about it to a friend or cry out loud.” Well, I can’t think of a better suggestion than this. This was given to me by a friend. Talking about a problem to a friend? You need a lot of ingredients in that case. First you will need a true friend who is ready to be with you and listen to you even though you have decided to speak only your problems. Not necessarily a friend – he /she could also be the one you love. If you are looking for the second ingredient, there is none. Only one. Who do you consider the most luckiest person in the world? Take your time and think. OK, I know , the options are millions. I’ll give you the answer. How lucky is a person who is ugly and has no talent and no money? Yes, that was the answer. THE LUCKIEST PERSON. (OK. I will be using male gender from here on. He / She is getting weird.) He is the only person who can find the ones who like or love him for the person he is. He wont have friends because he looks like those dazzling celebrities or because he has Einstein’s brain. He has friends because they like him for who he is. Is is accepted for whatever he does. How wonderful? But ……
After all, whom can you blame? People all over the world are looking for happiness. It is good, but they are looking for happiness at any cost. When you have really good times with a friend and then slowly start whining about your problems to him after years, after a particular point he can only pretend to be concerned about your problems. Believe me, the pain that strikes you once you realize that he no longer is interested in your problems and is getting bored while you are pouring out your deepest, darkest secrets to him with all your heart is unbearable. And the fact that he was the only one to whom you would ever say them is even more gross. My advice, lose him before he walks away. That way you can take the blame. Another one of your mistakes, along with hundreds of others in the bag. That is when you have to learn to lose everything you ever wanted and attained. Try to become numb to the world’s sarcastic deeds. Friendship and love can carry on as long as happiness comes along. If a point comes where everything is sorrow and the relation still carries on, then I call it the one that touches divinity. What name can scholars give for that kind of a divine relationship? I’ll leave it to them. But that is no longer friendship nor love. That is the greatest gift anyone can get. A gift worth protecting your whole life. Or in other words, living to protect that gift. Sorry if my posts sounds a bit philosophical. But it’s just me. OK …signing off…Bye…Need to hear my heavy metal and Jazz……..

My favorite lines of Dylan

Jus some of the Best lines written by Bob Dylan…

1)
Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things
But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

The song is based on a woman who went best schools, having a good time laughing at other’s miseries and then had to face her own. The verse above is my favorite in the whole song. Especially the last five lines. Amazing how time can turn things around? You can see it a lot more times in your lifetime than you can imagine. The verse is from the song “Like a rolling stone.”
The song was described by Dylan to a journalist
"It was ten pages long. It wasn't called anything, just a rhythm thing on paper all about my steady hatred directed at some point that was honest. In the end it wasn't hatred, it was telling someone something they didn't know, telling them they were lucky. Revenge, that's a better word. I had never thought of it as a song, until one day I was at the piano, and on the paper it was singing, 'How does it feel?' in a slow motion pace, in the utmost of slow motion."

2)
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

Dylan recalled writing the song as a deliberate attempt to create an anthem of change for the moment (sentence taken from wikipedia). The song was the anthem of the youth at that time. It was released January 13, 1964. The lines above are the fourth verse of the song. Difficult to pick a favorite verse from any song of his.
About the song, Dylan said
"This was definitely a song with a purpose. It was influenced of course by the Irish and Scottish ballads ...'Come All Ye Bold Highway Men', 'Come All Ye Tender Hearted Maidens'. I wanted to write a big song, with short concise verses that piled up on each other in a hypnotic way. The civil rights movement and the folk music movement were pretty close for a while and allied together at that time."
3)
Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

The final verse from the song “Mr.Tambourine Man”. Since my first breath, the best lines I’ve ever heard and will be hearing. It drenches me of all my miserable feelings. No matter how hard the world brings me down, these lines make me stand up to my feet. Dylan will be my living God, no matter how stone cold he is. In an interview he said (not exactly the same words) “Why do you need someone to love you when you can love yourself?”

L.O.V.E

Yep. I know it sounds a bit like a mediocre topic to write on since everyone has been expressing their views on this topic.

Caution: The post is about me blabbering about the things I’ve experienced when it came to love. If you have enough problems of your own, just skip it. SKIP IT!!!!

Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love. Any guesses who said this???? Well, whoever did say this was a freakin’ genius. When I read the quote, I tend to loose myself thinking whether it is a negative or a positive quote on love. You could conduct a debate on this perhaps. But the judges is result is final and predictable. “Love is good and bad. It depends on the way we see it.” Arggggghhhhhhhhhhh how many hours of debate shows have I wasted my time on just to hear that kind of a crappy inference on a one hour debate. OK, Just some History. We guys a were a group in our school days who had one thing in common. We had the amazing ability to reject a girl’s signal towards us pretending that she never gave us the signal. Now that ability is sometimes called a defect(or I’d rather say that we were handicapped when it came to love or flirting). Talking about flirting, even if we did flirt with someone, we get so involved that we miss all the signals given by her.

Level 1 – She smiles for the dumbest joke we say and we think that the joke was a good one.

Level 2 – Level9 – No idea. Wish I knew what those signals were.

Level 10 – She looks straight into the eye and says “I like you. Or never seen anyone so smart and lovely as you.” And you say “Oh. Thank you. That’s nice of you to say that mam.”

Nothin has ever changed in me when it comes to love. All I can do is think of all the ways I can do to please the girl I love(not the other sense), but when I see her It all vanishes. Atleast I ain’t a loser like some of the people I know who wasted their precious moments of life crying for the girl they love but she didn’t give a shit. And why didn’t she? Cause he was a complete shit head when she was around. I have been in love when I was 16 and I could tell anyone that she liked me. This time I didn’t screw up. The other guy did better than me. That was the last time ever that I experimented with love. I had to take diversion and there was a whole world of music waiting for me. Al I had to do was just listen and Thank God I didn’t have access to drugs(at least up to now). He he…Kiddin’. But then you hear all those amazing love songs and how love played a big part in your idol’s life, you give second thoughts about rejecting love from your system. Atleast Thom Yorke from Radiohead (lead vocals, rhythm guitar & piano from the English Alternative Rock band RadioHead) gave me company. You gotta hear the song “Creep” from Radiohead. Sometimes I feel good when I hear the song because it reminds me of how I am and my idol has gone through the same. Except that he has gone through more difficult times which has made him the man he is now.

Had I not been addicted to music, I would have been another one of those gross, sympathetic, “what-is-this-life”, “life-is-not-fair” whining shithead who definitely wouldn’t have thought about writing a song on it and making a multiplatinum. Well even now I try but it just doesn’t sound good enough (in fact it is awful), so I quit and I just rap about it…That’s easier. He he. And, If you still didn’t get the person behind the quote, it’s Albert Einstein. Truly a genius. OK, I know this has just been a good for nothing post going in circles in the middle of nowhere. But that is how I think. Thank you for wasting your precious time and congrats that you don’t have enough problems of your own. See you back in my next post.

Songs that make me cry to Happiness - Part 2

Dire Straits – Private Investigations
A blend of classical and electric guitars towards the end with the classical dominating most of the song. This is song is personally my favorite song by Dire Straits. Of course, Sultans of swing, Romeo and Juliet and many more are in my list but clearly this song beats every other one of ‘em by miles. Very little words while the music speaks everything. The song plays like it has all the time in world without any stupid music filling in the silent parts, or perhaps the silence that comes out randomly is the best part in the song. For all, silence can speak a thousand words and express feelings which cannot be done by words or pictures.

Counting Crows - Mr.Jones [VH1 StoryTellers Version]
[VH1 StoryTellers Version] – I specifically mentioned that that because I thought that was better than the original version. Adam Duritz starts of the song by saying that it is a song about his dreams and that version which followed was far too better than the electric version. I still can’t hear the whole song in the electric version. I just switch over to this one. A very sweet yet simple song which can blow you away. Also recommended “Big Yellow Taxi” and “Accidentally in Love”.

Bob Dylan – Knockin’ on Heaven’s door

I am not gonna say a word. Just hear it for yourself.

Guns ‘n roses
Where is “Estranged ” in the rolling stones top 500 songs. The song is purely EPIC. 10 minutes of scintillating symphony……...duh….I dunno how those words came out. But still, the song has everything it needs to be perfect. Slash with his guitar, Axel with his vocals and words. Just perfect. Easily tops the rest of their songs with a close competition with "November Rain."

DISCLAIMER

Who would think a post for a disclaimer?  Or wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait…….   Who would think that a Disclaimer could be put as another post.   I mean, even if someone did, they badly needed to update the blog with some crap orrrrrr………. That guy really needed to make people know that HE was writing the posts and not  “Ctrl C   Ctrl V”  from some other blog.  This post IS a disclaimer stating that, I Rahul, Born in Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah wrote this blog and never, in whatsoever situation , indulged in any kind of copyright infringement activities (if pirated music doesn't come under that).  And that this blog wholly popped outta me except for the pictures that were taken in first search in Google images.  So the next time anyone tells you this lame shit must have been taken from some place else, stab his face with his nose bone and ask him to read the Disclaimer(oh!  And that was Mobb Deep if you were thinking)…Still working on “Songs that make……”post.will put it up sooooon.  Till then have a happy time reading the disclaimer.
